Liebe Fans und Freunde des Förthof UHK Krems!
Nach Rücksprache mit unserem Trainerteam und unseren Spielern hat der Vorstand des Förthof UHK Krems heute einstimmig beschlossen, dass die Mannschaft ein Auswärtsspiel in Novi Sad am Samstag gegen RK Vojvodina nicht bestreiten wird.
Die brutalen Ausschreitungen und Provokationen der serbischen Fans letzten Samstag in der Stadt Krems, teilweise auch an Standorten von Partnern unseres Vereins und nicht zuletzt in der Sporthalle Krems vor einem auch politischen und rassistischen Hintergrund lassen uns keine andere Wahl. Wir haben Vojvodina und seine Fans mit offenen Armen empfangen und wurden bitter enttäuscht. Ganz besonders enttäuscht uns, dass wir von den Vereinsverantwortlichen des RK Vojvodina trotz expliziter Nachfrage im Vorfeld nicht über die Gewaltbereitschaft seiner „Fans“, deren Fahrt nach Österreich über den Verein organisiert war, informiert und aufgeklärt wurden und damit sehenden Auges eine Gefährdung der Sicherheit unserer Familien und Zuschauer in Kauf genommen wurde. Wir müssen davon ausgehen, dass die Sicherheit und Würde unserer Spieler, Betreuer und Fans daher auch beim Rückspiel nicht gewährleistet sein kann und wird.
Der Förthof UHK Krems ist ein Verein, der stolz darauf ist, alle Menschen, egal welcher nationaler Herkunft, zu vereinen. Dies gilt gleichermaßen für unsere Spieler, Kinder, Eltern oder auch Zuschauer mit familiären Wurzeln in Serbien, Ungarn, Kosovo, Bosnien, Kroatien, Albanien oder Slowenien.
Wir wissen, dass diese Entscheidung für alle Beteiligten unangenehm ist und für uns als Verein auch negative Folgen haben kann. Aber wann, wenn nicht in Zeiten wie diesen, muss ein europäischer Sportverein mit über 300 Kindern Haltung und Konsequenz zeigen, wenn derartige Vorkommnisse das Sportliche in den Hintergrund treten lassen, die Sicherheit aller Beteiligten gefährden und das Vertrauen in den Sport erschüttern, und entschlossen gegen Gewalt und Rassismus auftreten?
Ausdrücklich wollen wir betonen, dass sich dieser Beschluss nicht gegen die sehr fairen Spieler und Trainer des RK Vojvodina richtet, welche in Krems tadellos aufgetreten sind. Gerne hätten wir die Entscheidung sportlich in der Handballhalle in Novi Sad vor den wahren Handballfans von RK Vojvodina ausgetragen, dies ist aber nunmehr für uns undenkbar.
So wie der Förthof UHK Krems hiermit klare Position bezieht, erhoffen und erwarten wir uns eine rasche Entscheidung durch die EHF als Ausrichter dieses Wettbewerbes und damit auch ein klares Zeichen gegen jede Form von Gewalt oder Rassismus in dem Sport, den wir alle so lieben.

Dear fans and friends of Förthof UHK Krems!
After consulation with our coaches and our players, the board of Förthof UHK Krems unanimously decided that our team will not hold the away game on Saturday in Novi Sad against RK Vojvodina.
The brutal riots, public endangerment and provocations the Serbian fans caused last Saturday in the city of Krems, at other locations of partners of our club and at the Krems sports hall, with political and racist background, have left us with no other choice. We welcomed Vojvodina and their fans with open arms and we were utterly disappointed. We were also very much disappointed by the fact that, dispite explicit inquiries, we were not informed or prewarned by the representatives of RK Vojvodina about the readiness of violence of its “fans”, whose trip to Austria was organized by the club, which from our point of view has been extremely careless with regards to the safety of our families and our fans. Therefore, we have to assume, that the safety and dignity of our players, coaches and fans cannot and will not be ensured at the away game
Förthof UHK Krems is a club that prides itself on uniting all people, no matter the national origin. It goes without saying, that this also applies to our players, children, parents or our audience with roots in Serbia, Hungary, Kosovo, Bosnia, Croatia, Albania and Slovenia
We are aware, that this decision is unpleasant for all parties involved and may have negative consequences for us as a club. In times like these, we, as a European sports club with over 300 young players, have to adopt a clear standpoint. When the safety of so many people and the trust in our beloved sport is at risk, we have to take a stand to protect everyone involved and stand up against Violence and Racism.
We want to particularly emphasize that this resolution is not directed against the very fair players and coaches of RK Vojvodina, whose conduct in Krems was impeccable. We would have preferred to hold the decider sportsmanlike on the handball field in front of the true Handball fans of RK Vojvodina, but considering the terrifying events in Krems this is now inconceivable.
Just as we, as Förthof UHK Krems, are taking a clear standpoint, we expect and hope for a swift decision by the EHF, as the organizer of this competition, and a clear signal against any kind of violence and racism, foremost for the handball sport we all love.
